The beginning of 2019 turned out to be a crazy busy time at ucreate - and equally exciting at the same time. As we are about to start working on new projects and our current ones really started to get traction, we are looking even harder for great talents to help us. That’s why I would like to highlight a few things that we love in our company that you might not realise (or believe ;) ) after looking at our job offers.
1. Culture and the Team
Our DNA is one of the things we are most proud of. It’s a document describing the company’s mission and personality traits that we value most. Some say that writing such things down does not make sense and having a good culture boils down to not being an asshole - we don’t agree. We constantly compare our actions against the DNA and really appreciate teammates who proactively show they care about keeping ucreate a great place to work, grow and have fun at the same time - and we really enjoy it. The result is our team.
We are proud not to have any rockstar or ninja developers onboard. Just ambitious problem-solvers who embrace teamwork and support each other. We love hiring people with various backgrounds, coming from different industries and as a result, bringing unique skillsets and making an impact on how we shape products that we develop. If you are interested in digging a little deeper about who we are, you can check out the link below. https://www.linkedin.com/company/ucreate-it/people/
2. Variety of projects & technologies
Speaking of developing products, they relate to another thing that we as creative people appreciate a lot - innovation. Cooperating with startups is strictly connected with doing research and trying out new approaches and technologies. When working with us you’ll be able to shape your work in a way you prefer and switch between many technologies and product problems from different domains.
A few things about how we work that are worth mentioning:
- We pay a lot of attention to UI and UX, and we like to brag about it. Our Design Team recently started to share their work on Behance where you can check out one of our projects. More coming soon! https://www.behance.net/ucreate
- We push our coding skills every day. That’s why apart from using standard tools like linters, we constantly work on our internal coding guidelines. It’s the creation of all our developers where everyone is welcome to challenge existing rules, propose improvements and discuss them together. We also aim for the best industry standards like code review, pair programming and tests since day one.
- We create a challenging environment for ourselves and as we have 20% of our time dedicated for learning - micro-workshops, presentations and technical discussions are parts of our everyday life.- Everyone in the company is individually mentored in order to find the best way to progress with their career within ucreate. We use our internal Career Paths to self-assess, set personal goals (short and long-term) and figure out how to hit them. We are proud of the high retention (100% in Kraków office since we started it 2 years ago, growing from 2 to 23) and we work really hard to keep everyone satisfied and challenged long-term.
3. Exciting stage of growth
We are no longer rookies in the startup industry as we’ve managed to build a few multi-million products over the last years. However, we don’t call ourselves ‘big’ yet - we have solid foundations, but still have a lot of ambitious goals to hit. It’s a great opportunity to be a part of the team that will take us to another level :)
Our team faces a lot of challenges when it comes to ucreate’s growth as well. We are in the middle of implementing processes that will prepare us for a much bigger scale. This means there is a lot of space to try out people’s ideas, tweak them and re-iterate on what we already have to make everything run like clockwork. Everyone’s opinion matters in this process, and we’re still looking for other awesome people to join the ride!
